The Volunteers of the Syosset Fire Department were kept busy in 2017, responding to 2,291 calls for assistance. This total is slightly down from 2016 which saw the Department respond to 2,306 calls for assistance. 
The new year has been off to an even busier start. The Department has responded to 133 calls in the first 15 days of 2018. This is almost an 80 percent increase for the same time period of 2017.
In addition to calls, members participated in Parades, Drills, Fire Prevention Day and an annual visit to the Fireman’s Home in upstate New York, and the ever popular Santa Visits Syosset.
