History of Cleveland Fire Department

The Cleveland Fire Department was established in 1961. At the time, the Cleveland community relied on the surrounding departments in Clayton and Smithfield to respond to emergencies in the area. Fourteen members of the community saw a need for a local fire department to protect the Cleveland citizens.

They united together to make their vision a reality starting with collecting donations door to door.

“Any time, any place, any need.” Words we don’t take lightly in Cleveland. Holmes passed away in the line of duty in the last week of February. It was and honor and a privilege to be asked to help with this event. We ask you to lift up his family and friends in the weeks to come. ... See MoreSee Less
